You stay put and try to remain quiet.

Pam falls asleep, and after a few minutes begins to snore noisily.

Another half-hour passes, and then there's a knock on the door to Pam's bedroom.

"Hello?" asks a voice from outside.

You know the voice well.  It's Merv.

    Pam is still snoozing.

The bedroom door creaks open and Merv steps inside.  He walks over to the bed and sees Pam asleep.

He starts to look around for something.

Another moment passes, and you are about to tug at Merv's leg from under the bed when Pam suddenly wakes up.

"So!" she says to Merv.  "Trying to get the diary while I lay sleeping, ay?  Nice try.  Where's the money, Merv?"

The money?  Pam's selling your diary to Merv?  What could it all mean?

"Uh," says Merv.  "I was just gonna wake you up and tell you that I can get you the money as soon as I get it from Buddy up at Christy's."

"No, I don't think so," says Pam.  "You were trying to sneak into my room and take it without paying me."

"Look, Pam," says Merv.  "Give a guy a break.  I'll have that money, but I need the diary now.  Webster's only in town tonight."

    Webster?!

"What's so important?" Pam asks.  "What's in that diary worth all this trouble?"

    "Some recipe," says Merv.

"Oh, God," says Pam.  "For what?"

"Something called a 'Brad Burrito'.  Brad made one for Webster that time he had a cameo on his show," explains Merv.  "And now Webster wants the recipe so he can open up a chain of vegan Mexican fast-food restaurants."

"And where do you fit into all this?" asks Pam.

"Web said that if I get him this recipe, he'll promise to use 'Merv Sauce' on all his tacos.  I stand to make a small fortune here."

"All right, all right," says Pam.  "I tell you what...  I give you the diary now, and you give me a thousand dollars if this restaurant thing gets off the ground."

    "A thousand?!" says Merv.

"You just said you could make a fortune--"

    "A small fortune."

"All right, five hundred," says Pam.

    "I don't know," says Merv.

"Look, you want the diary or not?"

"Only if the restaurant chain gets off the ground, right?"

    "Right," says Pam.

    "OK," says Merv.

    "All right," says Pam.

As Pam picks up the diary to hand to Merv, you suddenly slide out from underneath the bed.

    "Not so fast!"

    "Brad?" says Merv.

    "Brad?!" says Pam.

"I heard your little plot.  Trying to screw over Brad for some money, hunh?  Merv, is my friendship worth so little to you?  ...And Pam, my own sister -- my own flesh and blood turned against me!"

Pam and Merv look at each other.

"Let's kick his ass," says Pam.

Pam and Merv team up and beat the crap out of you.

    ...

A few months later, you sit at the new WebMex restaurant at the Walpole Mall where Fries & Fro's used to be.  You are munching on a WebTaco when you realize something's not quite right.

You walk up to the counter.

"Hey," you say to Jon Field, who's working behind the counter.  "Can I get a little more Merv Sauce on this?"
