In spring of 1993, The Reverend was asked
to use his Jesus character to promote student attendance at Marsh Chapel,
Boston University's campus church. These two ads (below) are what actually
ran in The Daily Free Press, the first on a Friday, the second on a Monday.
(The ad copy was written by a communications student in coordination with
the chapel's minister).

But before these two drawings were turned
in and approved, The Reverend and assaciate Jonathan Field sketched a
number of other ideas for the ads. What follows is a sample from those
